The social medium Twitter comes with a remarkable novelty: ‘voice tweets’, audio messages of up to 2 minutes and 20 seconds.
Initially, Twitter posts had a 140-character limit, which later doubled. The length of the new audio clips is limited to 140 seconds.
Twitter users can record their audio message directly through the Twitter app. Others will be able to listen to them via the authors’ timeline.
Twitter wants to give people who don’t get their message written in 280 characters more space. With audio, some nuances of a conversation can also be reproduced better, it sounds.
The novelty will first be rolled out on the iOS app, for Apple users. Other operating systems will also be available in the coming weeks.
