MADRID, Jan 12 (EUROPA PRESS) –
The self-employed and Spanish companies received 114,647 million euros of financing in 2020 through the ICO Guarantee Line to meet their liquidity needs derived from the Covid-19 crisis, formalizing a total of 944,588 loans with a guarantee of 87,085.8 million euros, according to the latest data provided by the Ministry of Economic Affairs.
Thus, a total of 591,535 companies received financing, of which 99% are self-employed and SMEs. Specifically, 255,808 self-employed workers and 269,812 micro-SMEs obtained loans amounting to 31,000 million euros.
74% of the approved operations corresponded to self-employed companies or micro-SMEs with less than 10 employees, which shows the capillarity of the Guarantee Line, says the Ministry of which Nadia Calviño is the head.
The largest companies received 34,425.8 million euros in financing. This amount was materialized through 17,925 transactions endorsed by the State with 22,965 million euros.
TOURISM, LEISURE AND CULTURE, THE MOST AFFECTED
The companies and businesses in the sectors most affected by the pandemic are those that have received the highest volume of financing, amounting to 42,500 million euros.
A total of 125,262 freelancers and companies in the tourism, leisure and culture sector received financing amounting to 17,176.7 million euros.
Food and beverage commercial distribution companies received 8,777.8 million euros; 6,064.1 million for consumer goods and commerce; 5,808.4 million for the food and beverage industries and 4,670.2 million for the textile, fashion and commerce sectors of these sectors.
CATALONIA, THE COMMUNITY THAT HAS SIGNED THE MOST OPERATIONS
The distribution by autonomous communities reflects that Catalonia is the community that registered the largest number of guaranteed operations, with a total of 183,466 approved loans, which allowed its companies to receive financing amounting to 21,125.9 million euros.
Andalusia follows, with 149,925 loans and financing of 13,868 million euros; and the Community of Madrid, with 132,590 operations and 24,137 million in financing channeled to their companies.
By provinces, Madrid is followed by Barcelona, ​​with 132,204 loans amounting to 16,555 million euros; Valencia, with 49,598 and 5,607 million of guaranteed financing, and the Balearic Islands, with 26,385 operations approved for an amount of 4,760 million euros.
