A 41-year-old man from Mauritius, who had been living with crippling hip pain for over 11 years due to Avascular Necrosis (AVN), has found significant relief and renewed hope after undergoing advanced therapy.
The man went through cell-based regenerative therapy at StemRx Hospital & Research Centre in Navi Mumbai with the expertise of Dr Pradeep Mahajan, who is a regenerative medicine researcher and founder of StemRx. The patient was able to avoid hip replacement surgery and regain a better quality of life.
Kavraj Singh Bohani had been battling constant pain, stiffness, and restricted movement for more than a decade. Over the last three to four years, his condition worsened drastically, affecting his ability to walk, sleep, work, and carry out daily activities. Multiple doctors in Mauritius advised hip replacement surgery as the only solution. Despite prolonged use of painkillers, the relief was temporary, and the physical pain began to take a toll on his mental and emotional health as well. While searching for a non-surgical alternative, Bohani learned about StemRx through the Medi Check Clinic in Mauritius. With the hope of treating the root cause of AVN rather than replacing the joint, he decided to travel to India for regenerative treatment.
At the hospital, a detailed evaluation confirmed advanced AVN of the hip, a condition caused by reduced blood supply to the bone, leading to bone damage and joint deterioration. The health experts designed a customised regenerative medicine plan focusing on restoring blood flow, reducing inflammation, and encouraging natural bone healing.
Even before the main therapy began, the patient experienced improvement with supportive care and physiotherapy. He then underwent stem cell-based regenerative therapy, along with a comprehensive treatment approach that included targeted cell therapy, physiotherapy, quantum energy medicine, HBOT, and EBOO. This integrated strategy aimed to slow or halt disease progression, relieve pain, improve mobility, and help avoid joint replacement surgery.
Explaining the condition, Dr Mahajan said, “Avascular necrosis develops when the blood supply to the bone is compromised, leading to progressive damage and severe pain. In many cases, joint replacement is advised as the final option. Our focus is on addressing the disease at the cellular level by improving blood flow, reducing inflammation, and stimulating bone regeneration. In Mr Bohani’s case, after a thorough assessment, we designed a personalised stem cell therapy protocol to support hip joint recovery.”
He further added, “The factor that stood out in this case was the patient’s determination and trust in the treatment process. With consistent therapy and rehabilitation, we observed meaningful improvement in pain levels, mobility, and overall function. This case highlights how regenerative medicine can offer hope to patients who feel surgery is their only option.”
Sharing his experience, Bohani said, “For years, pain controlled every part of my life. I couldn’t work properly, sleep peacefully, or even step out without discomfort. Doctors told me surgery was the only way forward. Coming to StemRx changed everything. Today, I am almost pain-free and no longer dependent on medicines. I finally feel hopeful again.”
He further expressed his gratitude, adding, “Dr Mahajan gave me confidence from day one. His calm approach and clear explanation made me feel safe throughout the treatment. Before opting for a hip replacement, I would strongly encourage anyone suffering from AVN to explore this treatment. It gave me my life back.”
